HISTORY
DOLOMITE is Leading the Way in Seismic Acquisition
DOLOMITE is a distinguished oil service company with a strong foothold in Libya, providing exceptional services to the thriving Oil & Gas industry. Our strategic vision revolves around becoming a pivotal player in Libya by actively employing cutting-edge technologies available in the global Oil & Gas sector. While seismic activity in Libya has remained relatively small since 2011, neighboring Middle Eastern countries and other North African nations, including Algeria, Egypt, and Tunisia, have experienced significant seismic events. Consequently, numerous new technologies that proved successful in the Middle East and North Africa during that period had limited opportunities for implementation in Libya.
While seismic activity in Libya since 2011 has been relatively small, Middle East countries and other North African At DOLOMITE, we firmly believe that the achievement of seismic projects hinges upon three crucial elements: geophysical expertise, operational excellence, and the apt selection of field equipment and geophysical technologies. As exploration activities in Libya demonstrate a positive trajectory, every seismic project undertaken by Libyan operators presents a golden opportunity to deploy tailor-made, innovative technologies that best contribute to the successful attainment of Exploration and Production (E&P) objectives unique to each specific area.

VISION
OUR VISION
DOLOMITE‘s overarching vision is to establish itself as the foremost seismic contractor in Libya. This strategic blueprint was crafted in response to CGG, a renowned global geoscience services company, withdrawing from the worldwide seismic acquisition market a few years ago. CGG’s decision created a valuable opportunity by making available a pool of seasoned operational and technical personnel. Over the course of several decades, CGG held a prominent position as a leading player in seismic acquisition worldwide, gaining recognition for its technical innovations, exceptional product offerings, and top-notch services.
VISION
Having been actively involved in Libya until 2011, providing both acquisition and processing services, CGG has since transitioned to offering data processing and geoscience consultancy services to Libyan oil companies through its technology centers located in France and the UK. Additionally, CGG licenses software to Libyan oil companies that have in-house data processing capabilities.
In alignment with this evolving landscape, DOLOMITE aims to emerge as the preferred seismic contractor by leveraging the wealth of experience garnered by CGG’s former operational and technical staff. Our aspiration is to uphold the highest standards of technical excellence, innovative solutions, and superior service delivery, positioning DOLOMITE as the industry reference in Libya.
Team
MEET OUR EXPERT TEAM
As a part of our strategic approach, DOLOMITE-GEOSEIS-S3 has diligently recruited a highly skilled team, including senior personnel from CGG Tunisia, as well as experienced professionals from Algeria and Egypt, both locally and internationally. By bringing together these individuals, we have inherited CGG’s extensive knowledge and expertise accumulated over several decades of seismic acquisition in North Africa.
The following list of experiences represents the invaluable expertise acquired by our GEOSEIS and S3 team members during their tenure at CGG in North Africa. This experience serves as a solid foundation for our operations at DOLOMITE-GEOSEIS-S3.
The backbone of our human resources at DOLOMITE-GEOSEIS-S3 predominantly consists of former key personnel from CGG, renowned for their demonstrated proficiency in seismic acquisition within the North African region. To lead this exceptional team, we have appointed two highly competent individuals in key leadership roles.
a former CGG senior manager, whose broad experience of seismic acquisition started in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Qatar) before he moved in 2012 to Tunisia as Country Manager and head of seismic operations. Hervé is now manager of seismic operations of Geoseis. Hervé has been successfully operating 2D and 3D seismic crews in Tunisia over a large variety of field conditions such as sand dunes, gravel plains, sebkhas, mountainous areas and agricultural areas. His main achievements in all those projects were not only operational efficiency but data quality. Key oil companies who trusted Hervé along his career are Saudi Aramco (Saudi Arabia), Perenco (France), TOTAL (France), ENI (Italy), Oilsearch (Australia), DNO (Norway), Mazarine (Netherlands), MEDCO (Indonesia) and, more recently, Hunt Oil.
Also a former CGG senior manager, whose broad expertise covers both seismic acquisition and data processing. Philippe acted from 2010 to 2019, as CGG’s Geomarket Director for North Africa. In this role he was in charge of promoting and facilitating the adoption of CGG’s new acquisition technologies over North Africa countries. His efforts were particularly successful in Algeria, Egypt and Tunisia, with a number of very successful projects that demonstrated the value of new technologies to produce high grade seismic results with no or marginal impact on the price. During his long and varied career in CGG, Philippe has had business relationships with a number of Libyan O&G and service companies, before and after 2011. This experience of Libya is of prime importance to ensure the proposed services are best adapted to Libya’s specific geophysical conditions and business environment. Beyond these two key people, DOLOMITE-GEOSEIS-S3 hired the following senior field personnel.
